Every day at 8:40 AM, the YouTube program 'Startup Morning Coffee,' hosted by CEO Jeon Hwa-sung, meets viewers live on the 'Jeon Hwa-sung's CNTV' channel, injecting vitality into the startup ecosystem. This program, which effectively serves as a useful information platform through interactive communication via real-time comments, recently spotlighted 'BORNTOBEE,' an innovative company opening new horizons in character IP business. BORNTOBEE was created to resolve the long-standing difficulties faced by character creators: the complexity and hassle involved in selling their creations online. While the popularity of personalized character merchandise is rapidly increasing with the advancement of POD (Print On Demand) technology, the reality has been a lack of creator-friendly sales environments. To address these issues, BORNTOBEE launched 'twenty,' a market platform where character creators can easily trade their works. Currently, it continues its robust growth through CNTTech's Campus Town support project. The most powerful core of twenty is that it provides an unprecedentedly convenient and efficient IP trading environment for both creators and buyers. Buying customers can view various character creators, who were previously scattered across social media, all in one place on 'twenty,' thus enjoying both shopping convenience and pleasure. For creators, it simplifies the entire process from product registration to sales, allowing them to focus solely on creation. It also provides opportunities for new creators to grow and gain exposure fairly, thereby fostering a healthy and sustainable character IP ecosystem. BORNTOBEE's revenue model is simple yet reasonable. When a creator registers a product on the platform and payment is completed, the creator directly ships the product, and BORNTOBEE receives approximately a 6.6% commission. CEO Jeon Hwa-sung noted the remarkable achievements of BORNTOBEE's 'twenty.' Without any special paid marketing, it secured 5,000 character creators and 400,000 members solely through word-of-mouth, demonstrating explosive growth. It achieved approximately 390 million KRW in sales last year and expects about 590 million KRW this year, proving its stable profitability and clearly demonstrating its market potential. BORNTOBEE is not content with this and plans to build a system that automates POD product creation upon digital SMR upload. This will support creators in focusing entirely on their core task of design, aiming to provide an even more efficient creative environment. Based on a team strong in software development, BORNTOBEE is garnering high expectations as a leader that will drive innovation and continue sustained growth in the character IP business market.
