AI-powered Korean language and literacy education platform Learney was selected as a finalist in the 'Enhancing Language Literacy through Innovation' special track at the '2025 Global EdTech Startup Awards (GESA)'. Learney is an educational platform specialized in Korean language (English in overseas markets) and literacy learning. It comprehensively covers core language competencies such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and rather than just problem-solving, it provides explanations and feedback tailored to the student's understanding process. Its strong connection with classroom lessons is also a strength. Teachers can manage the learning process before, during, and after lessons, and students can proceed with learning tailored to their own level. Learney is expanding its scope of use as a classroom tool that can be linked with basic academic achievement guarantee policies. Artificial Society, which operates Learney, is expanding its overseas presence through exchanges with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in the U.S., participation in the UK global EdTech accelerator Dohe program, and more. It was also selected for two consecutive years in the '2025 East Asia EdTech 150' announced by HolonIQ, a global education market research firm. In Korea, it obtained GS Software Quality Certification and ISO 27001 Information Security Certification, and in the U.S., it secured ESSA Tier 4 certification. CEO Kim Ki-young said, “Learney has been developed with the goal of being actually utilized in classrooms as a Korean language and literacy instruction tool to support basic academic achievement, rather than emphasizing technology itself.” He added, “We will advance our services to contribute to bridging the learning gap in educational settings both domestically and internationally.”
