Metaverse platform ZEP has set its sights on Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest education technology market, officially launching its global ambitions. On the 11th, ZEP stepped into the local market by officially launching "ZEP QUIZ," an edutech platform specifically designed for Indonesian students.
Indonesia, the world's fourth most populous country with 220 million internet users, is truly a digital powerhouse. With a school-age population of 110 million under 24 years old, the edutech market is assessed to have limitless growth potential.
ZEP confirmed this strong market demand even before its official launch. In January, "ZEP QUIZ" already recorded 320,000 monthly active users and up to 50,000 daily active users in Indonesia, proving the high level of interest and necessity within the local education sector. Kim Sang-yeop, CEO of ZEP, stated that he became confident in the high compatibility with the Indonesian edutech market through the analysis of this organic influx data and webinars conducted for local teachers.
ZEP is making comprehensive efforts for successful localization. It has built a user-friendly environment through thorough localization strategies, including official support for Indonesian language, avatar costumes reflecting traditional attire, and free provision of school maps with a local atmosphere. Furthermore, it has hired five Indonesian employees domestically to promptly respond to local inquiries and is enhancing user accessibility through customized tutorial videos and social media operations.
CEO Kim emphasized that this official service in Indonesia will be an accelerator for global expansion, adding that the company is even considering establishing a local entity in Indonesia in the future. ZEP dreams of leaping onto the global stage, using its success in the Indonesian market as a stepping stone.
