Orange Square, which operates WOWPASS, an all-in-one payment platform exclusively for foreigners, has begun to strengthen its services to target the Southeast Asian market. WOWPASS has significantly improved accessibility and convenience for foreign tourists by adding Southeast Asian languages, including Vietnamese and Thai, to its unmanned currency exchange kiosks and mobile app, and by newly introducing a voice guidance function to its kiosks. WOWPASS kiosks, currently numbering around 300 nationwide, will now provide more convenient currency exchange and card issuance/recharge services to visitors from over 150 countries by offering Vietnamese and Thai in addition to the existing Japanese, English, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) support. In particular, the newly introduced voice guidance function goes a step further than the existing text-based system, helping foreigners unfamiliar with kiosk usage to utilize the service intuitively. WOWPASS has already been operating a real-time multilingual call center to support communication for foreign tourists. The popular WOWPASS app, which has surpassed 2 million cumulative subscribers, has also revamped its UI to allow easy access to various functions such as card balance check, mobile top-up, money transfer, online payment, and eSIM purchase in Vietnamese and Thai. Beyond its existing strong markets like Japan and China, Orange Square plans to actively pursue expansion into the global market, using Southeast Asia as a bridgehead, based on a customer-friendly UI/UX linked to K-POP and K-Culture. According to Korea Tourism Organization data, the recovery rate of Vietnamese visitors to Korea last year reached 92.4%, and in the first quarter of this year, the number of Vietnamese visitors increased by 17.6% compared to the same period last year, indicating the high potential of the Southeast Asian market supports this strategy.
