Wantedlab, a leading HR tech company in Korea, has opened a new horizon in the Japanese IT talent market. Teaming up with Lapras, a Japanese IT talent career matching company, Wantedlab successfully held the 'Engineer Recruiting Carnival' at WeWork Linksquare in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This was Wantedlab's first local recruitment event in Japan, bringing together 10 major Korean startups focused on securing developer talent – a key driving force of the rapidly growing Japanese IT market – and over 100 Japanese developers, drawing significant attention. The acceleration of digital transformation (DX) led by the Japanese government and the remarkable growth of the startup ecosystem are causing an explosive increase in demand for local developers. The 'Engineer Recruiting Carnival' is an event newly planned to align with this trend, adapting the 'Recruiting Carnival Japan' previously held in Seoul for Japanese job seekers residing in Korea, to the local Japanese context. Starting with this successful event, Wantedlab plans to continuously expand career matching events for IT professionals, including developers, in Japan. The event was attended by innovative startups leading their respective fields, including AI B2B platform 'Syonic AI', proptech startup 'Canary', AI-based healthcare startup 'Ispec', e-commerce logistics tech startup 'LogiLess', construction-specific B2B platform 'CraftBank', AI engineering startup 'Soteria', and AI-based legal tech startup 'Legalscape'. These companies provided participants with detailed recruitment and career information, while also offering a time for sharing practical concerns and visions for career growth through in-depth networking. Each participating company emphasized their vision and growth potential during recruitment pitching sessions, clearly outlining the importance of recruiting developers and current open positions. In particular, LogiLess was selected as the 'Most Attractive Company' by on-site participant votes, receiving an enthusiastic response. Furthermore, presentations by representatives from participating companies shared practical information such as work methods in startups and success strategies for developers, garnering significant positive feedback. A Wantedlab official emphasized, "This Engineer Recruiting Carnival is a global event that consolidates Wantedlab's accumulated know-how from successfully hosting various career events," and stated, "We were able to directly witness the strong recruitment intent of participating companies and the keen interest of Japanese developers in Korean startups." The official further expressed their ambition, "Moving forward, we will actively support excellent talents from both Korea and Japan to grow into global bridge talents, and through this, we will continue to undertake diverse activities that contribute to cooperation and exchange between the two countries."
