## GeoGrid Successfully Introduces Innovative Smart Water Purification System 'BLOS' at Muakjae Mineral Spring – Leading the Establishment of Safe Water Infrastructure in Urban Areas Smart water tech company GeoGrid has installed its real-time water quality monitoring and purification system 'BLOS' at the Muakjae Mineral Spring in Jongno-gu, Seoul, significantly enhancing the drinking safety and convenience of a public drinking fountain long beloved by citizens. This project presents a future model for urban public mineral springs, contributing to an improved quality of life for citizens through technology. Previously, despite high usage, the Muakjae Mineral Spring caused public anxiety due to the lack of real-time water quality information. In response, Jongno-gu Office and GeoGrid collaborated to introduce BLOS, restoring public trust and realizing safe water welfare by transparently displaying water quality status and drinkability in real-time via on-site monitors. Notably, BLOS is designed as a direct-connection system considering outdoor environments where water tank installation is difficult, and features an open drinking fountain structure optimized for outdoor spaces, boasting expandability that allows flexible application in any environment. At the core of BLOS is its proprietary 'dual sterilization system.' It eliminates 99.9% of harmful bacteria like E. coli by combining ionization-based electric sterilization technology with UV lamps, without the use of chemical agents, ensuring excellent hygiene management even in outdoor environments. Furthermore, to maximize maintenance efficiency, its internal structure has been simplified for easy filter replacement and disinfection, and it is equipped with a winter freeze-prevention function, enabling stable operation throughout all four seasons. The design, which considers future integration of various environmental sensors, demonstrates BLOS's potential to evolve beyond a simple purification system into a core component of smart city infrastructure. After installation, the Muakjae Mineral Spring passed stringent water quality tests by an accredited testing institution, receiving a 'fit for drinking water quality standards' certification. Citizens who personally checked 'if this water is safe to drink now' via the on-site monitor expressed high satisfaction, saying, "With technology applied to the mineral spring, we can drink with peace of mind; it truly feels different." An official from Jongno-gu Office also commented, "Introducing a smart system to a public mineral spring, where local residents' trust is crucial, is a very meaningful endeavor," pledging the local government's continuous efforts. GeoGrid plans to expand its smart drinking fountain model in urban areas, starting with this Muakjae Mineral Spring project. Meanwhile, GeoGrid's building water purification system, 'BLOS (Building Oasis),' is being exported to the Southeast Asian market through collaboration with major domestic construction companies, and is strengthening its position in the global smart water market, having been recognized for its innovation at CES 2025 and attracting investment from Silicon Valley venture capital firm 500 Global. Its selection for Samsung Electronics' 'C-Lab Outside' also serves as proof of GeoGrid's technological prowess.
