Samsung Noble County to Pilot Senior Emotional Well-being Service
Digital healthcare leader Hai has partnered with Samsung Noble County to embark on a meaningful journey of caring for the mental well-being of seniors. This demonstration project, which will unfold for approximately two months starting August 12 at Samsung Noble County in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, will involve 30 residents and local community members, aiming to improve senior stress, depression, and anxiety. This project came to fruition as Hai was proudly selected for Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group's innovation program, '2025 FutureScape'. Participants will utilize Hai's solutions, specifically designed for emotional management in the elderly, and changes before and after use will be thoroughly verified. In particular, this project will provide the 'Maumjeongwon' service, customized for seniors, which integrates 'Maumcheck', a comprehensive mental health check-up service, and 'Engzirex', a digital therapeutic device approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. This is expected to be a valuable opportunity for seniors to directly examine their own minds and experience peace through digital devices. The demonstration project briefing held at Samsung Noble County Living Plaza garnered enthusiastic interest, with 95% of applicants attending. One resident who participated in the briefing could not hide their excitement, stating, "Digital devices are somewhat unfamiliar, but I have high expectations for a new experience." Kim Jin-woo, CEO of Hai, expressed deep gratitude to Samsung C&T for providing the opportunity to conduct the demonstration project at Korea's top-tier senior living facility, stating, "I am confident that our emotional management solutions, which have achieved results so far, will also bring positive effects to seniors." An official from Samsung Noble County also promised to continue supporting various programs so that residents can enjoy healthy and joyful daily lives. Hai has ambitious plans to use this demonstration as a stepping stone to expand cooperation with various domestic institutions and further extend its services to senior living facilities and senior specialized institutions both domestically and internationally. As our society rapidly ages, mental health issues among the elderly are emerging as a significant social challenge that can no longer be overlooked. According to a survey by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, 11.3% of seniors aged 65 and older experience depressive symptoms, and Korea's elderly suicide rate is the highest among OECD countries, demanding urgent measures. In this context, the collaboration between Hai and Samsung Noble County is highly anticipated to become a crucial turning point in improving the quality of life for the elderly.
