AI agent startup Rhyner has introduced its 'Research AI Agent' series, set to change the paradigm of academic research, and presented an innovative vision called 'Vibe Research'. Vibe Research is a new conceptual approach where researchers can conduct studies with the help of AI, even without strictly designing logic in advance. Rhyner plans to evolve beyond accurate AI search into a comprehensive AI solution that covers the entire process of research and thesis work.
Two Research AI Agents were unveiled this time. First, the 'Hypothesis Generation Agent' refines initial ideas into sophisticated, research-ready hypotheses. When a researcher inputs a simple concept, the AI analyzes existing research, constructs logical hypotheses, and transparently provides their basis, making it particularly useful for beginners or researchers exploring new topics.
Second, the 'Citation Recommendation Agent' automatically finds the most suitable sources for each sentence in a thesis draft. By selecting references that comprehensively consider academic credibility, such as recency, citation count, and journal level, it helps researchers reduce the burden of repetitive literature searches and focus on core research.
Rhyner plans to sequentially unveil a wider range of Research AI Agents by August. The 'Thesis Review Agent' will have AI check for logical errors or vulnerabilities in data analysis within thesis drafts. The 'Literature Analysis Agent' will broadly explore the latest materials aligned with a research topic and suggest thematic trends and new research directions. Additionally, the 'Survey Agent' will secure data that reduces the likelihood of failure in actual experiments through virtual experiments that request surveys from multiple AIs.
Kim Jin-woo, CEO of Rhyner, emphasized, "Research is the force that moves the world, and Rhyner aims to help researchers focus on more fundamental research by reducing the time spent on extensive information searches." He added that Rhyner will take the lead in realizing Vibe Research as a trustworthy colleague and practical partner for researchers. Meanwhile, as a leading K-AI startup, Rhyner is supporting research activities by operating a scholarship program for participants of 'Agents4Science 2025'.
