Naver Pay is drawing industry attention by launching the beta service of its new integrated payment terminal, 'Npay Connect,' which is set to change the landscape of offline commerce. It is an innovative device that goes beyond simple payment, bringing Naver's vast online and offline service ecosystem, including reviews, coupons, orders, and point accumulation, directly to the point of sale.
'Npay Connect' offers customers ultimate convenience by supporting all major payment methods such as cash, cards, QR codes, Samsung Pay, and NFC, as well as Naver's independently developed facial recognition payment, 'Face Sign.' Now, customers can write reviews directly on the terminal, download personalized coupons, and instantly earn points simultaneously with their payment. The core is providing a 'one-stop experience' where processes that previously had to be inconveniently done through a mobile app can now be completed all at once.
It offers even more powerful benefits to merchants. Without needing a separate, expensive POS system, it can be easily linked with existing POS systems to utilize all its functions. Its 8-inch touch display allows for flexible horizontal/vertical installation and even includes an unmanned kiosk function for sole proprietorships. The review system has also been significantly improved. Customers can easily leave reviews by simply selecting industry-specific keywords without receipt verification, and it also supports receiving a detailed review link after entering a mobile phone number. During the beta period, exceptional point benefits are also provided when writing reviews.
Naver Pay, currently operating its beta service in Seoul, the Seoul metropolitan area, and Jeju, aims for a full nationwide launch by the end of the year. In the future, it plans to add more diverse functions such as Naver Booking integration, automatic stamp accumulation, and individual membership sign-ups. Furthermore, it plans to support merchants' sales growth and customer management with personalized marketing and CRM functions that utilize customer order data based on their Naver IDs. 'Naver Pay Connect' can be pre-applied for through Naver search.
Lee Hyang-cheol, Head of Npay Pay Service, expressed his anticipation, stating, "'Connect' will become an integrated platform that goes beyond simple payment, offering a new level of convenience to customers and efficient operation and customer management solutions to merchants." The industry is closely watching what changes Naver Pay's latest endeavor will bring to the offline commerce environment.
