At the recent '2025 Cafe Managers Day' hosted by Naver, the company announced a new 'Secure Transaction' solution designed to innovatively enhance the safety of peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions within cafes. This solution is scheduled to be implemented in Naver Cafe starting this September and has been designed with user protection as its top priority. Approximately 100 cafe managers, whose cafes have active user-to-user transactions, attended this event, where they discussed strategies for cafe growth and community revitalization with the Naver Cafe team. The newly unveiled 'Secure Transaction' solution is a comprehensive transaction security system that combines Naver Certificate, Naver Pay Escrow, and FDS (Fraud Detection System). Its core features include mandatory real-name verification via Naver Certificate, allowing only verified users to participate in transactions, and protecting buyers' payments securely through Naver Pay Escrow's safe payment system. Furthermore, it supports sellers in verifying actual purchases by linking Naver Pay payment histories. Even if fraud or disputes occur during a transaction, there's no need to worry. Through the operation of a dedicated dispute resolution center and enhanced monitoring specific to peer-to-peer transactions, prompt and fair resolution is facilitated. In addition to this, Naver plans to reorganize the existing 'Neighborhood Used Transactions' page, which was previously focused on local direct transaction information, into a space where users can see all products nationwide that utilize the secure transaction solution at a glance. The revenue model will apply a reasonable level of fees, and for cafes where secure transactions are active, support programs such as revenue sharing will be provided, thereby creating a win-win structure with managers. Lee Il-gu, Head of Naver's Content Service Division, emphasized, "Naver Cafe is evolving beyond simple information exchange into an interest-based peer-to-peer transaction hub, and we will build an environment where users can transact with peace of mind, based on the know-how from our 'Assurance Guarantee Project'." He also added that Naver will strengthen co-growth policies, including revenue-sharing programs for managers, who are key to fostering a healthy cafe culture. This secure transaction solution is a crucial part of Naver's 'Assurance Guarantee Program,' which is expanding beyond commerce to encompass all UGC (User Generated Content) services such as Cafe, Band, and Blog. Naver plans to continue creating platforms for ongoing communication with cafe managers on various topics in the future.
