Korean Park Dae-il exchanges jokes in dialect with locals over a bowl of noodles in an alleyway in Chengdu, China. Known by his Chinese name '大一 (Dàyī)', he started his journey of settling in China six years ago with live commerce, and has now firmly secured the title of 'the foreign creator who best introduces China'.
In 2019, when Park Dae-il set foot on Chinese soil in search of new opportunities, he was just one of many young people. However, he possessed extraordinary perseverance. When the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world, most foreigners returned to their home countries, but he remained in Chengdu, traveling to nearby cities on foot and producing travel and gourmet content. True to his belief that "simply making good videos isn't enough to win the hearts of international viewers," he didn't hide behind the camera but directly communicated with locals. His sincerity, conveyed in broken Chinese and sometimes with gestures, resonated strongly.
The results were astonishing. He secured over 140,000 subscribers on China's representative video platform Bilibili alone, and more than 500,000 across all platforms combined, building deep trust beyond mere numbers. For three consecutive years since 2021, he has been the sole Korean recipient at the 'China International Short Video Awards,' and his influence is further proven by his selection as an 'Overseas Promotion Wanghong' (influencer) and numerous victories in video contests. In particular, being invited as a representative foreign creator to 'China Tourism Day' events and tourism forums held in major cities such as Yangjiang, Taishan, and Chengdu, serves as evidence that he is recognized as a true ambassador of Chinese culture.
Behind all these achievements stood a reliable partner, Adova. Adova helped foreign creators overcome technical and administrative hurdles in China's complex platform environment and provided data-driven strategies, allowing Park Dae-il to focus solely on content creation. Park Dae-il expressed his gratitude, saying, "All of this was possible because I had a strong partner like Adova."
Park Dae-il is generously sharing his accumulated experience and know-how with junior creators who dream of entering the Chinese market. His advice that "China is still a market with high growth potential, but content that understands the culture and naturally integrates into the local scene is crucial" is a valuable insight gained from hands-on experience.
Adova is also showing rapid growth, assisting over 1,400 creators worldwide in entering China and supporting the operation of more than 2,500 local Chinese channels through its AI-based creator content cross-border SaaS, 'Adova.ro'. It's no coincidence that its innovative capabilities were recently recognized through successive selections for programs like the '2025 Baby Unicorn Nurturing Project'.
Park Dae-il's case goes beyond a simple success story. It is vivid proof of the synergy that can be created in the enormous Chinese market when a creator who deeply understands the local scene and consistently communicates meets the right partner. The trust built brick by brick ultimately allowed them to overcome cultural barriers, and the collaboration between Park Dae-il and Adova will become a solid foundation for many more creators to flourish on the global stage in the future.
