Grip, explosive growth in vintage and used markets... Capturing MZ generation's taste and securing loyal customers! Live commerce shopping app 'Grip' is gaining attention for its explosive growth in the vintage and used categories. Over the past three years, cumulative transaction volume has surged by an impressive 142%, jumping more than 2.4 times. Notably, it demonstrated the market's hot enthusiasm by showing a steady growth rate of 79.9% in 2023 compared to the previous year, and 34.6% in 2024. This upward trend was clearly evident in the monthly 'Vintage Week' special exhibitions. During June's 'Vintage Week,' transaction volume in related categories surged by 40.4% compared to the previous month, proving its strong impact. Beyond simple sales growth, customer loyalty is also remarkable. An analysis of top sellers this year showed that the repurchase rate for customers who made purchases four or more times reached an average of 32.3%. This suggests that a strong, loyal customer base, consistently seeking vintage items rather than engaging in one-off consumption, is rapidly forming. The background to this high growth is analyzed as a combination of several factors: the MZ generation's consumption trend that values rarity and individuality, reasonable prices, and a sustainable consumption culture that considers the environment. In particular, the live commerce environment, with its strength in real-time communication, vividly conveys the unique stories and emotions of vintage items, stimulating purchasing desires and becoming a key driver leading to high purchase conversion rates. In response to this explosive demand, Grip launched 'Noyoufit,' a live commerce channel exclusively for vintage and used items, last May. 'Noyoufit,' broadcast regularly twice a month on Thursdays, is gaining customer favor by showcasing various fashion accessories such as branded clothing, bags, and wallets through diverse formats, including direct product introductions from warehouses or visits to vintage sellers. Kim Tae-soo, CEO of Grip Company, stated his ambition, saying, “Vintage is more than just used goods; it reflects a lifestyle that pursues individuality and sustainability,” and added, “We will actively reflect customer needs and trends to provide a satisfying shopping experience for both sellers and customers.”
