Eyewear brand BREEZM is attracting industry attention after recording remarkable growth in 2024, achieving its highest-ever performance. Sales surged by 52.5% year-on-year to 10.8 billion KRW, and product sales volume also increased by 43.4% to exceed 25,440 units. BREEZM, which has maintained steady growth since its launch in 2018, has accumulated valuable achievements: 27.7 billion KRW in cumulative sales and 64,636 cumulative units sold.
The primary driver of this impressive growth is its 'expansion strategy'. BREEZM successfully opened three new stores, including Gwanggyo, Public Gasan, and Dongtan branches, primarily in densely populated metropolitan areas, thereby expanding its customer touchpoints. Concurrently, sales at existing stores also grew by an average of over 25%, achieving not only quantitative expansion but also qualitative growth.
Significant changes are being observed in the customer base. It has been noted that beyond the existing core customer base of men aged 30-50, the proportion of female customers has surged by over 76% year-on-year, indicating an expansion of the customer base. This trend is supported by the fact that products with a high proportion of female buyers, such as 'Hailey' (1st place, 2,614 units), 'Jay' (2nd place, 2,415 units), and 'Justin' (4th place, 1,936 units), ranked among the top-selling products in 2024.
High revisit and repurchase rates demonstrate BREEZM's strong customer loyalty. Driven by gradually increasing revisit rates each year, over 6,200 of last year's sales were repurchases, and the cumulative repurchase rate over the past six years reached an impressive 81.8%. This is clear evidence of extremely high customer satisfaction and trust in BREEZM products.
Building on this successful momentum, BREEZM plans to continue aggressive investment and expansion in 2025. Domestically, beyond the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions where stores are currently concentrated, 7-8 new stores are planned to open in major hubs such as Busan and Incheon. Overseas business is also expected to gain momentum. Leveraging the successful establishment of its New York store in April last year, the strategy is to open a second U.S. store in Boston and further strengthen its presence in overseas markets through the launch of a dedicated application for custom eyewear orders.
Furthermore, BREEZM is proactively entering the field of pediatric myopia progression control, which is emerging as a core area in the future eyecare market. In January, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BnVIIT Eye Center, Essilor Korea, and others for joint clinical trials and research, embarking on securing new growth drivers.
Park Hyung-jin, CEO of BREEZM, stated, "I am delighted that BREEZM's efforts, focused on the essence of eyewear helping people see comfortably and clearly, have led to tangible growth." He emphasized, "We will continue to invest in providing differentiated customer experiences, such as improving product manufacturing capabilities and speed through smart factory initiatives and significantly reducing the time it takes for products to reach customers," articulating the vision of being a true eyecare partner.
