Epopsoft, which has led the domestic market with its AI-powered English learning app ‘MalboVoca,’ has embarked on an ambitious global expansion. On the 22nd, Epopsoft announced a new leap forward by simultaneously launching ‘Epop,’ the global version of ‘MalboVoca,’ in Taiwan and 21 Spanish-speaking countries. This is a significant achievement, coming two years after its entry into Japan in 2023, and is expected to become a pioneer that will change the landscape of the global English education market. ‘Epop’ inherits the proven learning effectiveness of ‘MalboVoca,’ while focusing on in-depth localization strategies optimized for the linguistic characteristics and user environments of local users. The quiz-based learning structure, centered on vocabulary, grammar, and listening, has been maintained, but the UI/UX and language data have been completely reconfigured for Traditional Chinese and Spanish speakers. Particularly for Chinese and Spanish, which have different word order structures compared to Korean and Japanese, the company showcased results that combine cutting-edge generative AI technology with the delicate touch of native translators to ensure natural sentence construction and translation quality. This global launch simultaneously targets the Taiwanese and Spanish-speaking markets. For the Taiwanese market, a Traditional Chinese version has been released via the App Store and Google Play, and a separate version for Simplified Chinese users is also being prepared. The Spanish version is being distributed in 21 Spanish-speaking countries including Spain, Mexico, and Argentina, marking a bold move that simultaneously targets a massive potential user base of over 400 million people and the 23 million-strong Taiwanese market. Epopsoft plans to continue the evolution of ‘Epop.’ A variety of features, including a conversational expression learning function currently undergoing beta testing in Korea, and a league system allowing users to compare and compete on learning progress, will be sequentially added to the global version. After initial service stabilization, more content and systems designed to further enhance learning enjoyment and immersion are expected to be added. Kim Woo-jun, CEO of Epopsoft, emphasized the significance of this global expansion, characterizing Taiwan as a “core market with high demand for English education” and Spanish-speaking regions as a “strategic stronghold and bridgehead for European expansion with vast potential demand.” He stressed that this launch is a “crucial milestone for the globalization of MalboVoca,” and expressed his aspiration to provide innovative experiences to English learners worldwide. Epopsoft, which has established a unique position in the domestic market with cumulative downloads of 7 million as of February 2024, annual revenue of 22 billion KRW in 2023, and a turnaround to operating profit, plans to accelerate its transformation into a truly global English learning platform by expanding its service areas to Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond in the future.
