Coupang Sole CEO Park Dae-jun to Accelerate AI Logistics Innovation

Coupang is undergoing a significant leadership transition, launching anew under a sole CEO system with Park Dae-jun. CEO Park will now lead Coupang's overall management and drive its future growth. Having first joined Coupang in 2012 as Head of Policy, he served as Vice President of Policy in 2019 and as Head of New Business from 2020, becoming a key driver of Coupang's growth. Under his leadership, Coupang, through AI logistics innovation, expanded its nationwide Rocket Delivery network and contributed to large-scale job creation. He also spearheaded innovative new businesses and regional infrastructure development, and actively supported small and medium-sized merchants in pioneering new sales channels through initiatives like 'Good Shop,' a permanent exhibition hall in cooperation with various local governments and government agencies. His strategic foresight was also behind the success of key new businesses such as Coupang Eats and Coupang Play. Meanwhile, Kang Han-seung, who previously led the Management Division, will now take charge of North American business development and overseas business support, playing a pivotal role in Coupang's global expansion. This strategic arrangement comes as Coupang Inc., Coupang's parent company, builds upon its success in Korea to accelerate its global market penetration, including Taiwan's Rocket Delivery and the acquisition of luxury e-commerce platform Farfetch. Through this leadership restructuring, Coupang aims to continue the robust growth of its domestic business while simultaneously accelerating its leap into the global market.
