Learney Makes Full-Fledged Entry into U.S. Public Education Market! Reliability Proven with Official ESSA Tier IV Acquisition
Global literacy education platform Learney has officially acquired Tier IV, the evidence level set by the U.S. federal education law 'Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA),' laying a strong foundation for its expansion into the U.S. public education market.
ESSA Tier IV signifies that an educational product possesses a clear instructional model based on learning science and prior research, along with a research design and implementation plan to verify actual educational effectiveness. This serves as a key indicator of trustworthiness when U.S. public schools and school districts adopt ed-tech solutions using federal and state budgets.
Based on a model whose effectiveness in basic literacy education linked to the Korean language curriculum has been verified in Korea, Learney has reconfigured its platform for the U.S. market to align with ELA (English Language Arts) standards. A key feature is its AI-powered interactive learning structure that comprehensively covers four areas—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—simultaneously strengthening students' comprehension and expression skills.
Currently, Learney is actively utilized by actual teachers in classrooms in some states, including Florida and Texas, in conjunction with English language arts lessons. During the ESSA Tier IV validation process, Learney collaborated with Leanlab Education to systematically organize the product's learning design structure, alignment with achievement standards, and classroom application flow, with the goal of conducting further efficacy studies and moving to higher validation tiers within the U.S. in the future.
Kim Ki-young, CEO of Artificial Society, Learney's operating company, emphasized, "The most significant meaning of this ESSA Tier IV acquisition is that a literacy model proven in the Korean language education context is successfully operating in the American ELA environment as well." He added, "This certification will be a crucial starting point for Learney to firmly establish itself as a trusted literacy solution in the U.S. public education environment."
