The business messenger 'Channel Talk' operator, Channel Corporation, is strengthening its AI capabilities and Japanese operations by recruiting an individual from the Japanese venture capital (VC) sector. Channel Corporation has appointed Lee Kyung-hoon, former representative of Global Brain in Korea, as the Vice President and Chief AI Officer (CAIO). Lee Kyung-hoon, the new CAIO, graduated from Kyoto University in Japan and has worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the generative AI startup "AKA." From 2018 until recently, he served as the Korean representative of the Japanese VC Global Brain, overseeing startup investments connecting Korea and Japan. He has also held outside director positions at large language model (LLM) solution company Allganize and robotics AI model development firm RealWorld. Global Brain is a Japanese VC with approximately 3.5 trillion KRW in assets under management (AUM) and has made investments in over 30 domestic startups, including Channel Corporation, Allganize, and Healing Paper (Gangnam Unnie). Through this recruitment, Channel Corporation plans to fully activate its internal AX (AI transformation) organization. The CAIO will support the AI transformation of both the company and its clients, as well as strengthen business competitiveness in the Japanese market. CAIO Lee Kyung-hoon stated, “Based on my investment and technology consulting experience accumulated so far, I will focus on the AI transformation in the industry and the expansion of the Japanese market.”
