A drone-based medical system, poised to lead innovation in future medical logistics, is taking its first steps in Daejeon. As part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '2025 Drone Demonstration City Construction Project,' Daejeon Metropolitan City has embarked on establishing a civil-government-military joint medical system based on unmanned aerial vehicles, with IoT-based logistics intelligence company Willog participating as a key partner. This project is an unprecedented attempt to deliver essential medical supplies such as blood, samples, and emergency medicines in real-time by drone within urban areas. This will enable rapid and stable transport of medical supplies even in traffic congestion or disaster situations, and is expected to significantly strengthen Daejeon City's disaster response capabilities. This project, involving cooperation among various entities including Daejeon City, Willog, Daejeon Armed Forces Hospital, and Taegyung Electronics, is the nation's first medical drone demonstration project, and is expected to become an important milestone in gauging the future of the medical field. Willog will support the stable operation of medical drones while developing a system to real-time track and optimize the condition of blood, samples, and medicines during transport. Utilizing patented IoT sensor devices, it precisely collects diverse environmental data affecting cargo status, such as temperature, humidity, and shock, and establishes a platform that immediately provides alarms to relevant personnel upon detection of abnormalities. This stems from Willog's unique technological capabilities that go beyond simple location tracking to transparently manage the entire logistics process and proactively predict and prevent potential risks. Willog's participation, with its rich experience in monitoring cold chain transport of biopharmaceuticals, is evaluated as a key factor enhancing the project's success potential. A Daejeon City official stated, "We have high expectations for Willog's excellent pharmaceutical transport management know-how and biopharmaceutical cold chain monitoring experience," adding, "Through this demonstration project, Daejeon City will innovate its medical system and emerge as a city leading the future mobility market." Bae Seong-hoon, CEO of Willog, also expressed his commitment, saying, "We will dedicate all our efforts to developing a real-time monitoring system for the stable transport of medical supplies, which are directly related to public health, and contribute to building a reliable medical logistics system."
