**Ulsan Startups Successfully Establish Foothold in Japanese Market! Achieved 9 Tangible Business Outcomes**
Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation successfully held the "2025 U-Global Bridge Japan Debriefing Day" at the Ulsan Startup Hub on the 25th, signaling a green light for entry into the Japanese market. This event was prepared to celebrate the successful first step of Ulsan startups' overseas expansion and to further refine future global market strategies.
The "U-Global Bridge Japan" program, hosted by Ulsan Regional Small and Medium Business and Startups Agency and Korea East-West Power, organized by Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, and sponsored by BNK Gyeongnam Bank, provided unwavering support to help Ulsan's innovative startups successfully establish themselves in the Japanese market.
Notably, seven promising startups participated in this program: NAWA, Genorbio, SierraBase, AeroOne, NYT, Emotive, and Fluent. These companies actively engaged with major corporations and investors in Japan, generating a total of 9 remarkable business outcomes. Specifically, they signed 3 MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding), 4 NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements), 1 PoC (Proof of Concept), and most importantly, 1 formal contract, successfully imprinting Ulsan startups' outstanding technological capabilities and innovativeness in the Japanese market. This is a valuable achievement that proves Ulsan startups possess sufficient competitiveness in the overseas market.
On this Debriefing Day, along with a report on the program's progress, participating companies directly presented vivid examples of their local activities in Japan and the results achieved, drawing keen interest and attention from attendees. Additionally, officials from the Ulsan Regional Small and Medium Business and Startups Agency and Korea East-West Power attended to introduce various startup support programs, promising strong backing for the sustainable growth of startups.
The event, held in conjunction with 'U-Byeolnan Bug's Night in Ulsan,' a program for spreading startup culture, featured lectures sharing valuable challenge experiences from senior entrepreneurs who had previously navigated the global stage, as well as in-depth panel talk shows. These provided practical inspiration and strategic insights to participating startups, offering a vision for the future.
Kim Heon-seong, Head of Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, stated, "It is a highly encouraging case that Ulsan startups successfully demonstrated their technological capabilities and innovativeness in the overseas market through the U-Global Bridge Japan program and translated it into tangible business results. Moving forward, the Ulsan Center will further strengthen strategic ties with global industrial hub cities, providing unwavering support to help our startups systematically settle and continuously grow in overseas markets."
Building upon this successful foundation, Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation plans to further expand its support for entry into the Japanese market by promoting joint projects with the Nagoya region of Japan in the second half of this year, thereby broadening the scope of global exchange. Attention is drawn to the global leap of Ulsan startups.
