Hyperscale AI startup Trillion Labs has elevated the status of Korean AI technology on the global stage. It proudly secured a spot as one of 40 elite companies worldwide in the '2025 AWS Generative AI Accelerator' program, hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
With over 2,000 companies applying worldwide, Trillion Labs broke through an impressive 50:1 competition ratio, proving its potential by being the only Korean Large Language Model (LLM) startup selected. Notably, unlike last year when 80 companies were selected, this year only 40 companies were chosen, a reduction by half, making this an even greater achievement amidst heightened competition.
With this selection, Trillion Labs will secure not only up to $1 million (approximately 1.43 billion KRW) worth of AWS credits, but also AWS's cutting-edge cloud infrastructure, expert AI mentoring, and opportunities for technological advancement and global market expansion through a network of global investors and partners.
Trillion Labs developed its Korean-style LLM using a 'from-scratch' method and attracted industry attention by unveiling its Tri-7B model just four months after its establishment. Subsequently, it showcased overwhelming technological prowess by successively releasing the 21B model with 21 billion parameters, and then the Tri-70B model with 70 billion parameters, which is the largest model developed in Korea. Notably, it received fervent attention from the global AI community for its groundbreaking move of being the world's first for-profit company to fully disclose even the intermediate checkpoints of its models.
Shin Jae-min, CEO of Trillion Labs, described this selection as a "meaningful achievement that proves our technological prowess and innovation in global competition," and stated his ambition to accelerate large-scale model training and service expansion using AWS infrastructure, and to dedicate all efforts to ensuring Korean generative AI technology establishes itself as a global standard.
Trillion Labs and the other 40 elite companies worldwide will embark on an 8-week intensive accelerator program in Seattle, USA, starting on the 14th, and are set to showcase their innovative technologies and services to the world at 'AWS re:Invent 2025,' the world's largest cloud conference held in Las Vegas this December.
