In May 2025, the South Korean used goods trading market once again confirmed that 'Daangn' (Karrot) still holds the undisputed throne. Recording 21.27 million monthly active users (MAU), it secured a dominant first place, showcasing an unparalleled dominance in the domestic used goods trading market. Following closely, Bunjang (BunJae Market) ranked second with 4.75 million users, and Joonggonara (Used Country) came in third with 1.65 million users. HeyDealer (1.05 million users) and Encar (900,000 users) took fourth and fifth place, respectively. Notably, a user gap of a staggering 4.5 times opened up between Daangn (1st) and Bunjang (2nd), clearly demonstrating Daangn's overwhelming market dominance. However, the most striking aspect of this survey was the unprecedented surge of 'HeyDealer,' which rose to fourth place. HeyDealer's user count, which stood at 530,000 in April, surged by an impressive 67% to 1.05 million in May, breaking its all-time record since the app's launch. This is a monumental achievement, surpassing 1 million monthly users, and is interpreted as a signal of a new formidable player emerging in the used goods trading platform market. HeyDealer started with 580,000 users in May 2022, grew to 630,000 in May 2023, and 640,000 in May 2024, showing steady but gradual growth over the past three years. However, in May this year, driven by the explosive effect of its 'Remove a Zero' promotion, it drew a steep upward curve and instantly entered the top-tier competition. Despite being a latecomer, its rapid growth is putting significant competitive pressure on the existing powerhouses. With the recent economic downturn coinciding with changes in consumption patterns, the used goods trading market continues its sustained growth, and each platform is expected to engage in fiercer competition to acquire users through differentiated services and aggressive marketing. This survey is the result of research conducted by the app/retail analysis service WiseApp · Retail targeting South Korean smartphone users (Android+iOS).
