Streaminghouse of Korea and Kanzashi of Japan, opening new horizons in the global workation market, held a successful workation showcase at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, signaling a green light for their B2B/B2G business in Japan. This event, held as part of the workation business agreement signed between the two companies last March and supported by the Korea Tourism Organization, received an unexpectedly enthusiastic response.
Shin Dong-hoon, CEO of Streaminghouse, which operates the workation brand 'The Huil', stated that through their participation in this expo, they were able to successfully present a joint workation business showcase with Kanzashi. He expressed high satisfaction, saying that the flood of inquiries from Japanese companies regarding workation adoption confirmed the successful launch of the business.
Kanzashi, an affiliate of Air Trip Group, a leading online travel agency in Japan, made strategic moves for the successful establishment of this showcase. It invited a wide network including major local governments, hotels, and businesses within Japan, and led the overall event by developing joint marketing involving employees from its Tokyo headquarters and Osaka branch.
Akimaya Masahide, CEO of Kanzashi, emphasized that through this venture, they have gained confidence in their ability to establish an innovative model in the Japanese workation market. He predicted that tremendous synergy would be created when Streaminghouse's excellent business capabilities, already proven in Korea, combine with Kanzashi's robust network and travel industry expertise in Japan.
Particularly, CEO Akimaya stressed that as this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, workation will play a crucial role in establishing a new 'binyeo' (connecting link) between the two countries, going beyond existing trade and tourism. Kanzashi (かんざし), whose company name means the 'binyeo' of Korea, added symbolic depth to this message.
The two companies plan to conduct a 3-day workation familiarization tour in Korea from September 10th to 12th for Japanese local governments and companies that expressed interest in adopting workation at this showcase. Through this, they aim to allow participants to directly experience Korea's advanced B2B and B2G workation business models, and actively seek to expand multifaceted exchanges based on the revitalization of workation between the two countries.
