SNDisplay, Wins CES 2026 Innovation Award! Drawing the Future of Displays with Perovskite Color Conversion Film
SNDisplay, a pioneer in display material development, achieved the remarkable feat of winning an Innovation Award in the Imaging category at 'CES 2026', the world's largest electronics exhibition, drawing the attention of the global display industry. The honored award-winning product is the 'perovskite color conversion film,' which holds special significance as it marks the recognition of SNDisplay's unique perovskite nanocrystal technology, accumulated over 10 years, for its commercialization potential.
SNDisplay's perovskite color conversion film introduces an innovation that surpasses the color reproduction limitations of existing displays. It achieves over 95% of 'Rec.2020,' the next-generation color gamut standard, based on the company's proprietary high-efficiency Perovskite Nanocrystals (PeNCs). An emission quantum efficiency of over 90% and an extremely narrow emission linewidth of less than 25nm display vivid and deep colors on screen, just as our eyes perceive natural colors.
Significant advancements have also been made in terms of productivity. SNDisplay can continuously mass-produce films over 110cm wide and 100m long using its proprietary Roll-to-Roll process. This technology ensures uniform and optimal optical performance even over large areas, such as 75-inch large TV panels. Furthermore, this film is perfectly compatible with existing blue LED backlight displays, offering both economic efficiency and operational efficiency by allowing manufacturers to easily apply it using existing facilities without new equipment or complex structural changes.
The perennial weakness of perovskite materials, their vulnerability to humidity and heat, has also been completely overcome through SNDisplay's unique particle protection technology and polymer matrix structure. By securing durability that maintains excellent performance even in harsh high-temperature and high-humidity environments, its application possibilities are infinitely expanding, not only in demanding fields such as automotive displays and precision medical monitors but also to the implementation of high-resolution pixel arrays in future AR/VR devices.
SNDisplay, which has consistently filed patents related to perovskite emitters since 2014 and accumulated technological expertise, currently holds 9 international (PCT) and domestic patents, solidifying its position as a technology leader. Lee Tae-woo, CEO of SNDisplay, emphasized, "Winning this CES Innovation Award proves that our perovskite technology, accumulated over the past decade, can be applied in industrial settings," and "We have presented an innovative solution that can simultaneously enhance color expression and energy efficiency while utilizing existing display manufacturing facilities." He further outlined his vision to accelerate commercialization and technological cooperation to firmly establish the perovskite color conversion film as a next-generation display platform technology that satisfies light efficiency, color expression, and sustainability. SNDisplay's innovation is expected to usher in a new era for the display industry.
