Slowave has opened new horizons in the sleep tech market with the official launch of 'Slowave 1.0', an ultra-compact wireless EEG device poised to innovatively improve sleep quality.
This pioneering device, equipped with a self-developed wireless EEG sensor, precisely measures key biosignals such as EEG, PPG, and pulse from sleeping users. It thereby provides in-depth analytical information on sleep stages, quality, and awakening patterns, offering customized sleep solutions that go beyond mere measurement.
The bulkiness and limitations of wired sensors in existing EEG devices were chronic problems that hindered movement during sleep and affected data accuracy. Slowave 1.0 has completely overcome these limitations. With an ultra-lightweight wireless design of just 6g, it maximizes wearing comfort when attached to the forehead and minimizes sleep disturbance factors, enabling comfortable and accurate data measurement throughout the night.
The product's technological prowess and safety have already been proven. It has secured reliability by obtaining Class II medical device certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and its value is currently being recognized through its supply to national research institutes conducting sleep disorder research.
Ryu Kyung-ho, CEO of Slowave, expressed his ambition, stating, "We hope Slowave 1.0 will become a key device contributing to the promotion of mental health, beyond just improving sleep quality." He further emphasized plans to expand EEG-based research on conditions such as delirium, ADHD, and cognitive function through close cooperation with medical and research institutions in the future, and to accelerate the development of digital therapeutics based on this research.
Meanwhile, Slowave was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Deep Tech TIPS program in 2023, along with its seed investor SparkLabs, thereby recognizing its potential as a future technology-leading company.
