Sling, which operates the tablet learning app 'Orrjo', has been selected for the '2025 Service BM Overseas Expansion Support Program' organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), thereby laying the groundwork for a leap into the global market.
This program is designed to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Korea's promising service sectors such as edutech, franchise, and ICT in their expansion into overseas markets, and Sling was selected as a 'debut company' in the edutech sector after undergoing KOTRA's rigorous evaluation of its business feasibility, innovation, and other criteria.
The selected Sling will receive comprehensive support from KOTRA, including 35 million KRW for overseas marketing expenses, as well as overseas expansion strategy consulting, production of service introduction videos, and opportunities to visit promising overseas exhibitions and conduct market research.
Sling plans to target the United States and Canada as its first overseas expansion countries, given their similar tablet penetration rates and examination structures to Korea. It plans to launch a global version in the first half of the year, equipped with features such as learning content for international test preparation and 'Orrjo AI Coach' which supports multi-language problem-solving guidance.
Orrjo, which has surpassed 800,000 cumulative downloads and established itself as an essential app for tablet learning in Korea, has demonstrated a digitized learning environment and excellent learning effects through core functions such as solving past CSAT (Suneung) and internal grading (Naeshin) exam questions using a smart pencil, automatic grading, incorrect answer notes, and a learning planner, as well as through its AI tutor 'Orrjo AI Coach' which provides customized explanations to students in a conversational format.
Sling CEO Ahn Kang-min stated, "Since last year, we have been steadily preparing for global expansion by selecting internationally recognized exams optimized for problem-solving learning through Orrjo." He added, expressing his ambition, "We will make Orrjo's convenience and learning effectiveness, which have been verified in Korea, known worldwide and grow into a leading K-edutech company."
