Selvatico Intensifies East Asian Market Push at Note Shanghai
Selvatico, an original Korean perfume brand, solidified its presence by presenting its blueprint for conquering the Asian market at ‘Notes Shanghai 2025’, the heart of the Chinese perfume industry. This exhibition, which successfully concluded over four days from January 16th to 19th, is a massive platform where approximately 300 niche perfume brands from over 20 countries worldwide participated, and about 15,000 international buyers and visitors attended. Selvatico proved its status by having the honor of being the only Korean brand invited for two consecutive years. At this exhibition, Selvatico unveiled an innovative new product lineup including natural perfumes, body mists, and perfumed hand & body creams, garnering immense interest from local consumers and buyers. Alongside product demonstrations, the brand discussed in-depth cooperation strategies for expanding its B2B network, thus establishing a bridgehead for entry into the Chinese market. Notably, on the 18th, Hyung-jin Bae, CEO of Bonjak, drew significant attention as a keynote speaker for the ‘Creative Bridges between Europe and Asia’ session. CEO Bae shared profound insights on how to reinterpret world cultures with the delicate sensibilities of Koreans and create new value, clearly showcasing Selvatico’s pursuit of a global vision. The Chinese perfume market is undergoing explosive growth, expanding from 14.2 billion yuan (approximately 2.84 trillion KRW) in 2019 to an estimated 26.5 billion yuan (approximately 5.3 trillion KRW) in 2024, with a surging demand for premium and niche perfumes. In line with these market changes, Selvatico plans to actively expand its local retail and online distribution partnerships, and pursue full-scale entry into East Asian markets beyond China, including Japan. CEO Hyung-jin Bae stated with strong ambition, “Demand for niche perfumes and premium categories in the Asian market is rapidly increasing, especially among the MZ generation. We aim to successfully establish ourselves in East Asian markets such as China and Japan, leveraging our participation in Notes Shanghai, and ultimately grow into a brand that leads the global perfume market.” All eyes are on Selvatico’s next move.
