Selectstar to Unveil Character AI Technology at SXSW 2025

AI startup Selectstar is accelerating its push into the global market, leveraging the synergy between innovative AI technology and K-content. Selectstar participated in 'SXSW 2025', a global content and technology festival held in Austin, Texas, USA, from March 7 to 15 (local time), and successfully showcased its character AI technology and 'DATUMO Eval', an automated solution for verifying the reliability of generative AI services. At the Korea Pavilion of the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Selectstar directly demonstrated 'Hachupping's Star Planet', an AI video message cake utilizing the 'Hachupping' character from the popular animation 'Catch! Teenieping', the 'Shinbi's House' AI video message generation service, and real-time AI character conversation features, garnering enthusiastic responses from attendees. This customized technology, integrating AI with familiar K-content characters, also received significant interest from international content companies. Notably, in the 'Next Stage' session held on the 10th, Selectstar's Vice President, Hwang Min-young, participated as a representative Korean startup panelist and engaged in an in-depth discussion on the convergence of K-content and AI technology. Vice President Hwang introduced use cases of Selectstar's character AI technology, presenting the potential for convergence of K-content, AI, and XR technologies, along with future directions. He emphasized, "AI technology is no longer limited to the content industry but is naturally expanding into daily life, and in the future, interactive content, not one-way content consumption, will be key." He also pointed out that as AI moves beyond being a 'technology' to becoming a 'function' that anyone can easily use, safety concerns are growing, and drew attention by stressing the importance of AI technology safety verification platforms like 'DATUMO Eval'. Meanwhile, prior to SXSW 2025, from March 3 to 6, Selectstar also successfully completed the 'AI Red Team Challenge' for global participants at 'MWC25', the world's largest mobile communications exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain, for the first time in the world, solidifying its leading position in the field of AI safety verification. Through its consecutive participation in global events, Selectstar is expected to further accelerate its entry into overseas markets by showcasing its differentiated AI technology and the potential of K-content to the world.
