Content platform Ridi set a new milestone in 2024, achieving its highest annual revenue ever. Consolidated revenue grew by 7.2% year-on-year to 235.4 billion KRW, and operating loss significantly decreased by a whopping 56% to 12.9 billion KRW, indicating remarkable improvement in profitability. Notably, achieving a daily transaction volume of 3.6 billion KRW in December last year, surpassing the monthly break-even point (BEP), is a highly significant achievement. This proves the successful execution of a two-track strategy: global market expansion and strengthening domestic business profitability. Ridi has further solidified its position in the Japanese market. The webtoon 'Under the Oak Tree,' exclusively serialized on the Japanese webcomic platform 'Mecha Comic,' garnered explosive popularity, surpassing 10 million views within a month of serialization and recording a cumulative transaction volume of 10 billion KRW within six months. Furthermore, Ridi became the first Korean company to be selected as a TSE Asia Startup Hub company by the Tokyo Stock Exchange, solidifying its competitiveness in Japan. Global webtoon subscription service 'Manta' also enhanced its service competitiveness through major updates last year. By adding hybrid products to its existing monthly subscription model, it broadened its content spectrum and refined the user experience, thereby expanding its influence in the global market. Domestically, Ridi successfully diversified its content portfolio into various genres, led by comics. Notably, Ridi's directly imported comic 'Wind Breaker' saw its original work sales skyrocket by over 80 times compared to two months before its anime adaptation aired, and its physical book edition also sold out its first print run in a single day, showcasing consistent growth. Bae Ki-sik, CEO of Ridi, stated, "Last year, we focused on strengthening our global business capabilities by achieving significant results in the Japanese market," adding, "This year, we will continue our sustainable growth through content business diversification."
