RideFlux Launches Busan's First Autonomous Bus Service

Rideflux, a leader in future mobility, has ushered in an innovative era of autonomous public transportation at Busan's Osiria Tourist Complex. This service is even more special as it is the first fully public autonomous bus that any Busan citizen can experience. Four 9-meter electric buses, named 'BIG AI' and embodying advanced technology, will be deployed. Each vehicle will carry up to 15 passengers and operate on fixed circular routes, similar to conventional public transportation. The buses will operate along two attractive routes (A and B, each 4.8km) connecting major Osiria attractions such as the National Busan Science Museum, Dongbusan Tourist Complex, Yonggungsa Temple, and Ananti entrance, starting from Osiria Station on the Donghae Line. Citizens can enjoy this special experience during the free trial operation period from November 16th to December 19th, after which it will transition to a paid service. Rideflux's autonomous driving technology is outstanding. Eight high-resolution cameras and six LiDAR sensors mounted on the vehicles perceive the surrounding environment in real-time 360 degrees, and through organic linkage with the Intelligent Transportation System (C-ITS) in the operating section, they achieve even more stable and smarter cooperative autonomous driving. This boasts near-perfect stability even in highly challenging driving situations, such as making left turns or U-turns at intersections with traffic lights, while operating on complex urban roads alongside regular vehicles. Rideflux, which already successfully showcased an autonomous public transportation service covering a round trip of 116km with 'Tamna Autonomous Vehicle' in Jeju, aims to integrate the autonomous driving experience even more deeply into citizens' daily lives through this Busan Osiria project. Furthermore, Rideflux has revealed its grand ambition to open an 'era of popularized autonomous public transportation' across South Korea, aiming for nationwide service expansion by the end of the year, encompassing the Seoul metropolitan area and major regional cities. Park Jung-hee, CEO of Rideflux, emphasized that the Osiria autonomous bus will go beyond a mere technological demonstration to become a 'turning point in the transportation revolution,' where autonomous driving naturally permeates citizens' daily lives.
