Realworld, Sole Korean Participant in AWS re:Invent's 'Physical AI Trend' Briefing
Physical AI innovation company Realworld attracted global attention by participating as the only Korean startup in the Physical AI Trend Briefing panel at 'AWS re:Invent 2025'. CEO Ryu Jung-hee pointed out the severe demographic cliff and decline in skilled labor in Korea and Japan, emphasizing the urgent crisis that large corporations could lose their core business if they fail to transition to automation within 5 years. As a realistic solution to this, he presented physical AI and humanoid robots. Realworld accumulates data from actual industrial sites by collaborating with companies such as SK Telecom, LG Electronics, Japan's KDDI, and CJ Logistics. In particular, it captures 360-degree movements with over 10 cameras and reconstructs them into 3D video, possessing unique '4D+ capture technology' that even measures finger pressure with haptic gloves. CEO Ryu explained that, unlike China's method, this approach is more accurate, faster, and cost-effective from an engineering perspective. He added that because robots adhere to physical laws, they perfectly satisfy the essential requirements of safety and reliability in industrial sites. In the first quarter of next year, they plan to unveil a robotics foundation model that integrates vision, language, and action (VLA). This model, through its 'cross-embodiment' structure, is designed not to be tied to specific robot hardware and allows learned movements to be applied to various humanoids and robot arms, maximizing versatility. It is already being initially applied to over 10 domestic and international projects, including Japan's Lawson automation project and the advancement of CJ Logistics' distribution centers. Meanwhile, Realworld, as one of 40 startups worldwide, was selected for the 3rd cohort of the 'AWS Generative AI Accelerator', achieving the feat of receiving up to $1 million in AWS credits and technical mentoring.
