Future ICT Innovation at a Glance! '2025 ICT Next Awards' Successfully Concludes
On July 25th, the '2025 ICT Next Awards' was successfully held at Rokawoos in Yongsan, Seoul, highlighting the brilliant achievements of Korea's ICT industry in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and ESG. Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Communications Agency (KCA), the event was designed to reward companies that have achieved outstanding results, share innovative cases, and open new horizons for ICT development.
At the awards ceremony, nine companies that made outstanding contributions in key ICT areas, including AI tech, hyper-connected networks, media content, and ESG, received commendations from the Minister of Science and ICT, officially recognizing their innovative capabilities. Approximately 120 attendees, including Lee Ju-sik, Director of Information and Communication Industry Policy Division at the Ministry of Science and ICT, and Lee Sang-hoon, President of KCA, as well as representatives from excellent companies, graced the event.
In particular, the presentations of four representative excellent cases garnered keen interest from the attendees. Metatown, a hyper-realistic neural rendering AI startup, left a deep impression by showcasing an AI fashion platform based on 3D virtual fitting and extended reality (XR) technology. Metatown's flagship service, 'EVOBA 3D Showroom,' developed with KCA's support, provides customers with an immersive 3D shopping experience, signaling a new wave of innovation in the e-commerce market. Jeon Sang-bin, CEO of Metatown, stated, "This award is a meaningful result that officially recognizes our technological capabilities," and added that the company will continue to dedicate itself to developing and expanding advanced technologies for the advancement of the domestic and international ICT industry.
In addition to Metatown, diverse innovative cases were introduced, presenting the future direction of technology. These included ▲Autonomous A2Z, which proposed customized solutions for the commercialization of autonomous driving technology ▲Muam, which promotes the globalization of Korean literature through an AI video production platform ▲Aightech, which developed an AI-based automatic sorting system for recycled materials.
On one side of the event venue, the key achievements of 50 selected companies were exhibited, providing attendees with an opportunity to directly experience and share innovations in major ICT fields. Lee Sang-hoon, President of KCA, reaffirmed KCA's role as a strong growth partner for ICT companies, stating, "We will spare no effort in providing diverse support for the growth of domestic ventures and startups and their entry into the global market."
The '2025 ICT Next Awards' was a successful celebratory event that commemorated the present of Korea's ICT industry and highlighted the activities of our companies that will create a better future through innovative technologies.
