Korea's drone AI leader, Nearthlab, has made its presence felt on the global stage by being named by U.S. defense specialized media outlet, DefensePost, to its 'Top 100 Global Drone Defense Companies of 2025' list. This is an achievement that places it shoulder-to-shoulder with traditional defense powerhouses like Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems, as well as next-generation technology-driven companies such as Anduril and Shield AI.
DefensePost comprehensively evaluated drone-related revenue, R&D investment, technological growth potential, and innovation capabilities. In particular, it highly praised Nearthlab's vision AI-based autonomous flight technology, its history of international award wins, and its successful entry into the U.S. defense network.
Indeed, Nearthlab has proven its technological prowess by sweeping prestigious global awards such as the CES 2025 Best of Innovation Award and the Edison Awards. It is also expanding its influence in the global defense market through strategic collaborations with key countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. In particular, the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Red Cat Holdings in the U.S. and participation in the 'Red Cat Futures Initiative' have laid an important foundation for penetrating the North American defense market.
Nearthlab's next-generation tactical drone solution, the high-speed interceptor drone 'KAiDEN', integrates its core technological capabilities and demonstrates innovation that transcends the limitations of existing air defense systems. KAiDEN, which autonomously recognizes and eliminates threats based on vision AI, is designed to enable immediate and precise responses even in complex battlefields. Currently, demonstration tests and discussions for deployment with military and security agencies both domestically and internationally are actively underway, with operational deployment imminent.
Nearthlab CEO Choi Jae-hyuk stated, "Being selected alongside leading global defense companies proves that our technology is effective in real-world scenarios," adding, "We will leverage this achievement to further strengthen our global partnerships and actively target the drone export market." Nearthlab's latest achievement elevates the international standing of Korean drone AI technology and demonstrates its potential to become a key player in the future defense market.
