Nearthlab CEO Choi Jae-hyuk received the Commendation from the Minister of National Defense for his contributions to the development of advanced weapon systems and the strengthening of national defense R&D capabilities, solidifying his position as a leader in K-defense drone technology innovation. With this award, Nearthlab has swept all major government ministerial commendations related to drones, officially recognizing its technological prowess and industrial contributions at a national level. This further cemented its status as a drone technology innovation company spanning both civilian and defense sectors.
CEO Choi Jae-hyuk has successfully led the development and business expansion of defense industry drone product lines, based on Nearthlab's AI-powered autonomous flight drone solutions. In particular, the high-speed interceptor drone 'KAiDEN' and the swarm autonomous attack drone 'XAiDEN', developed under his leadership, are emerging as core mainstays of K-defense drones.
KAiDEN is a high-performance interceptor drone capable of precisely striking targets at speeds of up to 250 km/h, and externally demonstrated its technical excellence by winning the U.S. Edison Awards last April. XAiDEN, unveiled in February this year, has garnered significant interest from military authorities both domestically and internationally by showcasing its swarm autonomous attack capabilities. These two innovative drone systems, through successful exports to Southeast Asia and the Middle East, are serving as key drivers for K-defense drones to officially enter the global market.
Nearthlab's achievements, from technology development to practical deployment, are also gaining attention on the global stage. The company has been named on the 'World's Top 100 Defense Drone Companies' list selected by global defense specialized media Defense Post, attracting global attention as a key player in next-generation K-defense.
CEO Choi attached great significance to Nearthlab's technology being officially recognized in the defense sector through this award, and expressed his aspiration to continuously advance the company's capabilities to lead technological innovation across the entire defense industry.
