Naver Cloud AI Analysis Service for Text-Based Video Scene Search

An innovative service has emerged that will change the paradigm of video editing. Naver Cloud's 'MAIU (Media AI Understanding)' is a solution that uses AI to analyze vast video data and instantly find desired scenes. This service can pinpoint specific scenes within thousands of minutes of video with a simple text search, such as "scene with a wine glass." The key is that AI goes beyond individual frame or object recognition to analyze video centered on 'meaningful semantic units,' deeply understanding the flow and context. As a result, it provides metadata that is much more intuitive and immediately usable in the field than existing AI analysis. MAIU's biggest strength is time reduction. If analyzing and pre-editing 3,600 minutes of original entertainment video previously took about 32 hours, MAIU completes it in under 2 hours, drastically reducing time by more than 15 times. This will bring about a significant change, helping all video creators, including broadcasters, production companies, YouTubers, and short-form content creators, reduce repetitive editing time and focus on creative work. It is currently undergoing closed beta testing (CBT) with domestic broadcasters and partners, and is scheduled for official launch next month. Through model lightweighting, it is expected to be priced reasonably at up to 1/3 the cost of global competing products, and it also offers the advantage of providing a one-stop solution from production to distribution, as various media services such as live streaming and VOD video transmission can be utilized together within the same platform.
