## Millie Seojae Declares a Grand Leap to Become a 'Comprehensive Reading Platform' in 2025!
KT Millie Seojae has declared 2025 as the inaugural year for its leap to become a 'Comprehensive Reading Platform,' reimagining the future of reading. The 2025 business roadmap, announced at a press conference on the 23rd, foreshadows innovative changes that extend beyond existing e-book subscription services to encompass all areas related to reading.
The biggest change is the launch of 'Millie Story,' a subscription-based story service centered on web novels and webtoons. Starting with web novels in June, webtoons will be sequentially introduced in September, with a plan to secure over 10,000 bestsellers and non-exclusive genre content within the year. This is a core part of the strategy to significantly expand the service area to story content, moving away from a general book-centric approach.
Beyond simple content distribution, the company is also focusing on IP expandability. By actively pursuing conversion into secondary content, such as producing the popular fantasy novel 《Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint》 as an audiobook and the romance work 《Gungno》 as a webtoon, they plan to deepen the reading experience. The goal is to establish a virtuous cycle where a single piece of content is consumed in various forms.
Offline touchpoints will also be significantly expanded. 'Millie Place,' a reading-friendly space, is a project that connects everyday spaces such as cafes, art galleries, and multi-cultural complexes with books. Currently, it plans to expand from 40 locations nationwide to 100 by the end of the year. In the future, it will expand its scope to include hobby-based community activities centered on reading, such as author book talks, fan meetings, and reading clubs, creating a space for communication through books.
To support these innovations, Millie Seojae will invest 20 billion won annually for the next three years, totaling 60 billion won, in content acquisition, recruitment of excellent talent, and advancement of IT infrastructure. Through this, it has set a challenging goal of achieving 150 billion won in sales by 2027, representing a twofold growth compared to the previous year.
CEO Park Hyun-jin emphasized, "Millie Seojae will be a turning point that will lead to tangible results such as increased content consumption and active users by maintaining the essence of reading while expanding services and user touchpoints in line with changing times," and revealed aspirations to open new horizons in the reading market.
