Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Selects 5 'Unicorn Icon' Companies to Lead AI Innovation… Driving Future Growth with up to 20 billion KRW in Support Over 3 Years
The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (hereinafter referred to as KODIT) has selected five innovative startups in advanced industries, including artificial intelligence (AI), as '14th Innovation Icons' to foster next-generation unicorn companies that will lead innovation in Korea's industrial ecosystem, drawing attention by promising comprehensive guarantee support of up to 20 billion KRW over three years.
The selected companies are leading AI technology innovation in various fields directly related to our lives, such as daily life, industry, medicine, law, and semiconductors, presenting future growth engines. The selected companies are as follows:
* **Wrtn Technologies**: Enhances public access to AI with its generative AI platform.
* **Superb AI**: Provides industrial AI solutions that maximize efficiency in industrial sites.
* **AI TRiCS**: Is gaining attention for its medical AI solutions that increase reliability in medical settings.
* **L-Box**: Is innovating AI legal services based on vast legal data.
* **HyperXcell**: Is shaping the future of the semiconductor industry with high-performance, low-power LPU (Language Processing Unit)-based AI semiconductor and server technologies.
KODIT offers unprecedented benefits to these Innovation Icon companies beyond simple guarantee support. It has prepared a preferential program that multi-dimensionally aids the growth of businesses, including not only credit guarantees of up to 20 billion KRW over three years and the application of the lowest guarantee fee rate (0.5%), but also additional guarantee fee support through partner banks, overseas expansion support, various professional consulting services, and proactive public relations.
Representatives of the selected companies expressed gratitude for KODIT's continuous support and declared their strong aspirations to grow into unicorn companies leading beyond South Korea to the world in their respective fields. Lee Se-young, CEO of Wrtn Technologies, set the goal of becoming 'the first service that comes to mind when you think of AI'; Kim Kwang-jun, CEO of AI TRiCS, affirmed his commitment to becoming a 'scale-up company leading the medical AI industry'; and Kim Ju-young, CEO of HyperXcell, expressed determination to leap forward as 'a representative AI semiconductor company of our country'.
The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund plans to actively support companies with core technological capabilities to grow into unicorn companies leading innovation ecosystems in various industrial sectors. It will also expand support for advanced strategic industries, including AI, which is a future growth engine, thereby firmly underpinning the government's policy direction. Through this, KODIT is expected to play a crucial priming role in helping South Korea leap forward as a global AI powerhouse.
