Kakao Pay has introduced 'Pay-i', an innovative channel that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enable smarter management of our health and financial lives. Its first service is 'Manage My Health with AI'. Pay-i is a generative AI-based consultation bot developed by Kakao Pay itself, with sLLM (small/lightweight Large Language Model) and machine learning technology at its core. While lighter than typical Large Language Models (LLMs), it boasts excellent performance in providing specialized and precise answers in specific fields by learning from the company's vast proprietary data. Through beta services and continuous development, Kakao Pay has advanced this sLLM to a level where it can be directly applied to real life. The newly launched 'Manage My Health with AI' service is characterized by providing personalized health and insurance consultations based on individual user health data. When a user links Kakao Pay's 'Insurance MyData', it comprehensively analyzes health check-up data from the National Health Insurance Service for the past two years. Through this, it predicts disease risks to which the user may be vulnerable and provides specific health management guides with examples. For instance, if an analysis result like 'fasting blood sugar levels show a continuous increasing trend' appears, it explains the related health risks in an easy-to-understand manner and suggests customized management methods and diets for lifestyle improvement. Furthermore, if an analysis of subscribed insurance is requested, it provides a detailed analysis of the current insurance coverage status for specific diseases based on health information. It helps users objectively understand their own coverage level by comparing it with the average coverage amount of user groups in the same age range, and assists them in considering additional insurance options if necessary. It also has a function to easily connect users to insurance experts when direct consultation is needed for complex matters, providing practical help to users. Information on health and insurance terms that were typically felt difficult can also be easily found through Pay-i. The 'Manage My Health with AI' service can be found in the 'Overall Tab' -> 'Convenience' category on the Kakao Pay app or within Kakao Pay Home in KakaoTalk, and can also be quickly accessed via magnifying glass search. Starting with this service, Kakao Pay plans to expand Pay-i's application area to various financial sectors, and ultimately broaden it to lifestyle areas closely related to users' daily lives. A Kakao Pay official emphasized, "We will support users' health management and insurance consultations through generative AI, and continuously improve the service by listening to user feedback." This demonstrates Kakao Pay's vision to evolve into a platform that enhances quality of life beyond finance.
