K-Content Startups Secure 52.3 Billion Export Deals in Singapore
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) participated in 'SWITCH 2025,' a global startup event held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from October 29 to 31. They successfully operated the 'K-Content Pavilion,' significantly opening up opportunities for K-content technology to enter the Southeast Asian market. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, 'SWITCH 2025' is Asia's largest tech platform where startups, investors, and creators from around the world gather to share the latest technology trends and seek cooperation. With around 400 startups from approximately 50 countries participating, KOCCA, in cooperation with the Singapore Business Center, operated a joint pavilion and actively supported innovative domestic content startups in pioneering local markets. The nine companies that participated in this event showcased their technological capabilities in diverse fields, including VideoMonster (travel video solution), BrainDeck (gamified voice rehabilitation), ShareBox (XR immersive content), WiseOnMedia (music education edutech), IRUTI (video content investment), ConnectBrick (marketing image generation), CodeCrayon (AI short-form content), PAMPH (metaverse XR), and HighStranger (multimodal AI analysis). During the event, these companies conducted a total of 812 in-depth consultations with major Singaporean investors and local buyers, achieving export negotiation results worth approximately 36.84 million USD (about 52.3 billion KRW), thus proving the overwhelming competitiveness of K-content technology. In particular, ConnectBrick and ShareBox signed business agreements with key local partners, establishing an important bridgehead for future joint business initiatives and expanded continuous cooperation, which further heightened expectations for entering the Southeast Asian market. KOCCA also hosted 'KOCCA NIGHT' to deepen understanding of the local market and strengthen its expert network. Representatives from major content tech startups in Singapore and Southeast Asia, including INVADE, ChompChomp Systems, BeLive, and gushcloud, attended this event and shared practical insights on collaboration strategies with K-content startups and settlement methods in the Southeast Asian market. Kim Su-jin, Team Leader of the Business Incubation Team at KOCCA's Content Infrastructure Division, emphasized that "Singapore is a key consumption market for K-content, a strategic hub for spreading trends across Southeast Asia, and a crucial gateway to entering the ASEAN market." She also stated that KOCCA will spare no effort in providing comprehensive support to accelerate the global market entry of K-content technology in the future.
