Jeollanam-do has introduced Pixello's AI-based eye health self-diagnosis kiosks to its flagship welfare policy, the ‘Visiting Jeonnam Happy Bus,’ to significantly enhance eye health management for residents in medically vulnerable areas. This initiative is especially expected to greatly contribute to the health promotion of seniors in rural and fishing villages with large elderly populations.
The ‘Visiting Jeonnam Happy Bus’ is a key project of Jeollanam-do that directly visits residents in areas where access to medical and welfare services is difficult, providing customized health, welfare, and cultural programs. The AI kiosk by Pixello, installed this time, further expands the role of this bus, supporting residents to easily check their eye health status and connect with necessary medical services.
This advanced kiosk offers various eye health self-diagnosis services, including presbyopia accommodative power tests, vision tests, and macular degeneration tests. Residents can accurately and easily check their eye condition inside the bus without separate appointments or hassle. Based on the test results, they can be guided to visit appropriate medical institutions, increasing opportunities for early diagnosis and treatment. This is an innovative approach that provides practical health management solutions to residents in medical blind spots.
Kang Seok-myeong, CEO of Pixello, stated, "Recently, there has been very high interest in eye health self-diagnosis kiosks applying advanced AI technology for local seniors," and added, "We will continue to contribute to protecting the precious eye health of seniors by installing these kiosks in more local communities and facilities in the future." Pixello further stated its plan to expand and provide innovative eye health management services to more regions, starting with this case in Jeollanam-do. The introduction of this AI kiosk is being evaluated as an exemplary case where advanced technology successfully combines with local welfare services to improve the quality of life for residents.
