AiV has launched ‘AiVot,’ an innovative AI robotics platform set to change the paradigm of manufacturing and logistics sites, thereby setting a new milestone in the industrial automation market. AiVot perfectly integrates AI-based vision recognition and robot control technology into a single platform, combining functionalities that were previously separate in existing systems. This drastically reduces delays and errors during processes and maximizes the precision of real-time control.
This next-generation platform is centered on a reinforcement learning-based AI model, cutting-edge optical modules, and Visual Servoing technology. By precisely controlling robots in real-time based on visual information captured by cameras, robots can perfectly perform even highly complex assembly tasks that require a delicate human touch.
One of AiVot’s biggest strengths is its application of ‘Episode Learning Technology,’ which dramatically reduces the amount of data required for robot training. By shortening the learning process, which previously required over 200 repetitions, to approximately just 30 times, it can save up to 90% of the time and cost involved in introducing new tasks. This provides companies with the opportunity to build new automation systems more quickly and flexibly.
Furthermore, it is organically linked with AiV's MLOps platform, ‘AiVOps,’ allowing for rapid learning and deployment of optimal models in response to changes in the production environment. The web-based UI offers intuitive convenience for simultaneously monitoring and controlling multiple robots.
From a technical standpoint, AiVot achieves both efficiency and performance. It has established an economical yet powerful optical system combining 2D cameras, ToF sensors, and stereo vision, instead of expensive 3D sensors. The adaptive AI system, which combines imitation learning and reinforcement learning, grants robots the autonomy to observe and improve their tasks. Designed based on ROS2, the global standard for robot operation, it boasts broad compatibility with various manufacturing equipment. The NVIDIA Jetson-based fanless structure minimizes installation space and power consumption. The simulation-based path generation feature, which allows verifying work paths in a virtual environment before deployment, reduces trial and error and aids in stable system setup.
AiV has already partnered with leading domestic companies such as CJ Logistics, Doosan Robotics, and Hyundai Glovis, demonstrating AiVot's excellent capabilities in diverse fields including strap recognition and cutting, ton bag pickup, metal component fastening and inspection, and precision assembly of automotive lighting. AiV CEO Sung Min-soo expressed his ambition to build a vision AI ecosystem in manufacturing sites through the launch of AiVot and continuously expand the areas of robot vision and AI robotics.
Cumulative investment attraction of 37 billion won and nearly 50 patent applications and registrations clearly demonstrate AiV's robust technological prowess and future growth potential. AiV plans to further broaden the horizons of AI robotics beyond quality inspection and assembly automation, accelerating its expansion into the global market. AiVot will be more than just an automation solution; it will become a core driving force to maximize the efficiency and productivity of future industries.
