Choosing a heartfelt gift for a loved one is always exciting yet difficult. Finding the perfect gift that satisfies both the giver's sincerity and the recipient's taste simultaneously is no easy feat. Now, Idus, a marketplace specializing in handmade works, introduces an innovative AI agent to solve this challenge. 'Dear,' ambitiously launched by Idus, operated by Backpacker, is a conversational product recommendation AI based on a Large Language Model (LLM). Users can ask questions as if talking to a friend in the 'Dear' chat window, accessible via the 'Gift Recommendation' tab or 'Search Results' screen within the Idus app. When specific situations are presented, such as 'Help me choose a birthday gift for a woman in her 30s' or 'Please recommend a thoughtful housewarming gift,' Dear accurately grasps the context of the question. Subsequently, it comprehensively analyzes the vast amount of detailed work information registered on Idus and real customers' vivid order reviews, promptly suggesting unique, customized gifts.
In particular, Idus has sought differentiation by applying its proprietary 'MCP method' to enable Dear to grasp customers' subtle intentions and maintain natural conversations. Furthermore, Dear is generating anticipation with continuous feature development, announcing that it will acquire 'memory' to recall information such as customer preferences and categories of interest learned during conversations, actively utilizing it in future consultations.
A 'truly' personalized shopping experience beyond simple recommendations
Beyond existing interest-based recommendations, Dear's launch has realized a truly 'personalized shopping experience' on Idus.
