Gyeongkonjin Kicks Off Unprecedented 'Regional Value Startup Program'!

The Gyeonggi Content Agency (GCA) held an orientation at the Dongbu Gyeonggi Culture & Creative Hub on June 18, signaling the successful launch of the '2025 Local Value Entrepreneurship Incubation Program.' This event marked the official commencement of efforts to revitalize the startup ecosystem in the eastern Gyeonggi region. This program supports teams with content convergence startup items based on local resources from eight cities and counties in eastern Gyeonggi, including Gapyeong, Gwangju, Guri, Namyangju, Yangpyeong, Yeoju, Icheon, and Hanam. This year, a record-high 90 teams applied, and after fierce competition, a total of 30 teams were selected, demonstrating a high competition rate. The 30 selected teams will embark on business concretization starting from the end of June, through in-depth capacity-building programs such as specialized entrepreneurship education, idea advancement workshops, and expert consulting. Subsequently, the top 20 teams that pass the interim evaluation will receive startup funding totaling 360 million won, with a maximum of 30 million won per team. In addition to financial support, the finally selected teams will receive various follow-up supports essential for practical startup execution, including expert one-point mentoring, BI/CI production, and promotional content creation. The ultimate goal of this program is to complete entrepreneurship within the eastern Gyeonggi region by the end of the year. Tak Yong-seok, President of the Gyeonggi Content Agency, stated, "Last year, through the 'Local Value Entrepreneurship Incubation Program,' we achieved the creation of 81 jobs and supported companies' sales revenue of 1.011 billion won." He further expressed his ambition, "This year, we will achieve even higher quality results and accelerate the expansion of the eastern Gyeonggi market." This program is expected to significantly contribute to revitalizing the local economy and fostering a sustainable startup ecosystem.
