The two-day global convergence startup festival , which saw over 6,000 visitors, concluded at the Changwon Convention Center. Beyond the success indicated by the numbers, this event was a dynamic scene of the startup ecosystem where individuals with diverse dreams and interests came together. Held under the banner of ‘Shared Growth for Gyeongnam, Investors, and Startups Alike,’ GSAT 2025 proved to be a powerful platform for the challenges and growth of startup companies, establishing itself as the region's largest startup event. The closing ceremony on the 29th was graced by the presence of Gyeongnam Province's Vice Governor for Economic Affairs, Kim Myung-joo, along with representatives from domestic and international investment firms, startups, and support organizations. Particularly focusing on the artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics industries that drive change across all sectors, conferences and talk concerts featuring renowned domestic and international speakers were held. The AI & Robot Hall, making its debut this year, captivated visitors by showcasing Gyeongnam's innovative technologies and products. 22 startup clubs consisting of university and middle/high school students, the main players of the future, invigorated the event by exhibiting their ideas, and the 'Convergence League' startup competition, designed to enhance the practical capabilities of aspiring entrepreneurs, was a fierce arena of competition. Twin Wiz in the middle-aged category and Mobawheel in the youth category won the Grand Prizes, earning recognition for their innovative technological prowess. The most crucial platform for exchange was the networking party held on the evening of the 28th. Over 200 key stakeholders from the startup ecosystem, including Vice Governor Kim Myung-joo, gathered to engage in free discussions about investment, which became a valuable opportunity to open up actual investment attraction possibilities for startup companies. Vice Governor Kim Myung-joo emphasized that GSAT has confirmed its potential as a 'global platform' where startups, investors, and support organizations communicate and cooperate, going beyond being a mere event, and previewed a richer and more developed GSAT 2026 for next year. In conclusion, GSAT 2025 was a successful 48 hours where participants identified their respective goals, and Gyeongnam Province solidified its strong presence in the startup sector. While time will tell if the planted seeds will bear fruit as actual businesses, this festival, overflowing with energy for innovation and growth, undoubtedly left a significance beyond that.
