Old apartments waiting for redevelopment: End rusty water worries with Geogrid's 'Rebuild Plan'! Clean water, right now! Good news has arrived for residents of old apartments who have suffered from rusty water and water pollution during long waits for redevelopment. Water tech startup Geogrid has officially launched 'Rebuild Plan', a customized water quality improvement program for old complexes, announcing that it will immediately provide clean tap water meeting 'drinking water standards' even before redevelopment. The core of Geogrid's 'Rebuild Plan' is the flexible utilization of its proprietary eco-friendly smart building water purification plant, 'BLOS (Building Oasis System)'. This system is first installed in existing old complexes awaiting redevelopment, immediately supplying tap water of drinkable quality from all faucets. Notably, it dramatically improves water quality within 2-8 weeks without replacing aged pipes. After redevelopment is complete, it proposes an innovative approach: reinstalling the previously installed BLOS in the new complex to continue water quality management. This is not a temporary fix but a sustainable water quality management solution throughout the complex's lifecycle. This customized solution was conceived following a flood of inquiries from local governments and construction companies, among others, responding to the voices of residents suffering from chronic water quality issues in redevelopment complexes. Geogrid plans to expand cooperation with local governments and construction companies, including holding briefings for complexes slated for redevelopment, to full-scale BLOS installation. BLOS's performance has already been proven through numerous pilot projects. In a 50-year-old apartment in Seoul, it received 'drinking water standard' compliance in key categories such as zinc, color, turbidity, and iron within just 3 weeks of installation, and showed the same results in a high school cafeteria facility within 2 months. After installation, it even provides smart features such as real-time water quality data, continuously monitoring and managing the water quality and pipe conditions within the building. Kim Ki-hyun, CEO of Geogrid, stated, "There has been a lack of practical alternatives for residents suffering from rusty water and hygiene issues while waiting for redevelopment," and emphasized that "'Rebuild Plan' will be an innovative solution that prioritizes water quality improvement over redevelopment, immediately enhancing residents' quality of life." Geogrid, which integrates water tech and proptech, is solving water quality problems in old buildings based on innovative technologies such as installation without pipe replacement, real-time water quality monitoring, and energy saving. Recently, it showcased BLOS at CES 2025, attracted investment from Silicon Valley venture capital 500 Global, and was selected for Samsung Electronics' 'C-Lab Outside', receiving recognition for its technology and growth potential both domestically and internationally.
