Gangnam Unnie Launches Six-Language Global Platform Beyond Greater China
Healing Paper's aesthetic medical platform GangnamUnni is accelerating its global expansion by officially launching the Greater China version of its foreign patient attraction service 'UNNI.' With this expansion, GangnamUnni has truly transformed into a multilingual platform, supporting a total of six languages: Korean, English, Japanese, Thai, along with Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Particularly, users in Greater China can easily check information on dermatology and plastic surgery procedures in Korea in their native language through automatic settings based on device language and a country selection function, and proceed with everything from chat consultations with hospitals of interest to reservations, all in one stop. This is the result of meticulous attention to translation quality management, going beyond simple literal translation to establish localized specialized terminology through repeated reviews by aesthetic medical experts. Efforts to naturally and accurately convey unique Korean procedure names in a way that suits local cultures are particularly notable. GangnamUnni stated that this expansion is a proactive response to the surging number of foreign patients visiting Korea, especially Taiwanese patients seeking dermatology and plastic surgery treatments, and a strong commitment to overcoming language barriers. Previously, the platform secured 1.6 million users and 1,500 partner hospitals in the Japanese market as of October 2025, and in Thailand, its local user base grew tenfold within 7 months of service launch, already demonstrating the overseas demand for K-aesthetic medicine and the importance of localization strategy. Furthermore, GangnamUnni is strengthening its cooperative relationships with public institutions such as the Korea Tourism Organization, actively aligning with national policies to revitalize medical tourism. Last June, it signed a joint marketing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Tourism Organization to attract Japanese tourists and is also receiving support for business expansion in Thailand. This launch of the Chinese version is also interpreted as a strategic move that aligns with the government's policy direction for revitalizing medical tourism. The company expressed its ambition to provide a differentiated experience to users worldwide through advanced technology and expanded language support, firmly establishing itself as a leading player in the global K-aesthetic medical platform sector. Launched in January 2015, GangnamUnni has so far accumulated 8 million global members, 4,500 partner hospitals, and 2.7 million user reviews, truly demonstrating its status as an industry leader.
