Finders AI, Opening New Horizons in the Japanese Retail Market!
An innovative solution has been presented to the Japanese retail industry, which is struggling with labor shortages and rising labor costs due to an ultra-aging society. Finders AI, a company specializing in vision AI unmanned solutions, has officially entered the Japanese market by showcasing its advanced AI technology at 'Retail Tech Japan 2025,' Japan's largest retail technology exhibition.
Held at Tokyo Big Sight, this exhibition is a specialized retail information system fair that attracts 70,000 to 80,000 visitors annually. It is a key venue for technological exchange, with over 250 companies participating, including global firms like Amazon and Microsoft. Here, Finders AI garnered significant attention from local retail stakeholders by demonstrating its vision AI-based unmanned store solution and the innovative 'AI Automatic Checkout (VCO).'
Notably, the AI Automatic Checkout (VCO), first introduced in Korea last year, is a system where multiple cameras accurately recognize products and support simple payments. This technology boasts significantly faster checkout speeds compared to existing kiosks, dramatically reducing customer waiting times. Furthermore, it is recognized as a core solution that offers a practical alternative to retail stores facing severe labor shortages, maximizing operational efficiency.
Hahm Myung-won, CEO of Finders AI, stated, “The unique strength of our solution is implementing highly accurate unmanned stores at a reasonable cost,” adding, “There is a lack of solutions with this positioning in the Japanese market, and we are already receiving a flood of partnership proposals from numerous local retail companies.”
In the current situation where Japanese offline stores are accelerating their digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation (AX), Finders AI plans to establish a Japanese subsidiary to firmly root itself in the local market and accelerate business expansion. The changes that Finders AI will bring to the Japanese retail industry are highly anticipated.
