EV Fire Suppression Startup ReMobility Recognized as 'New Technology' by National Fire Agency

Remobility, which has opened a new horizon in electric vehicle fire suppression technology, has obtained 'New Fire Technology' certification from the National Fire Agency, establishing itself as a leader in South Korean safety technology. Recorded as the first new technology certification case in the first half of this year, Remobility's technology, recognized for its innovation and importance, offers an effective solution to the rapidly increasing risk of electric vehicle fires. The core equipment developed by Remobility is a unique technology that remotely suppresses the thermal runaway phenomenon in electric vehicle batteries. This equipment, recognized for both its technical prowess and safety after rigorous deliberation by the National Fire Research Institute, surpasses the limitations of existing fire suppression methods. It operates by remotely entering the underside of a burning electric vehicle, penetrating the bottom of the battery housing, and directly injecting extinguishing fluid at high speed. Its ability to be operated from a distance of over 10 meters makes it particularly noteworthy for prioritizing the safety of firefighters. The equipment is equipped with two specially designed penetrating nozzles, and each nozzle has four powerful spray outlets, instantly submerging the thermally runaway battery through a total of eight extinguishing fluid spray outlets. What's even more remarkable is that the penetrated nozzles remain firmly fixed to the bottom of the battery housing even after the equipment is retrieved, fundamentally preventing the backflow of extinguishing fluid and effectively suppressing the risk of re-ignition. This is the result of a meticulous design that considers not only the efficiency of fire suppression but also post-incident safety management. This innovative electric vehicle fire suppression equipment from Remobility achieved the feat of being selected as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service for the first time in Korea, and a total of 14 units are currently being successfully piloted by the National Fire Agency and other public institutions. Fire stations and 119 safety centers nationwide are conducting continuous performance improvement work through training and actual field deployment using this equipment, thereby enhancing its field applicability.
