NP, a leading XR content company, has opened new AI-driven horizons for its innovative XR meditation app, 'MUA'. By incorporating 'MIND-C AI', jointly developed with KAIST's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Meditation Science Research Center, NP has unveiled an updated version that elevates the user experience to the next level.
MUA now precisely analyzes biometric data such as heart rate, heart rate variability, and blood oxygen saturation measured in real-time by the Galaxy Watch, automatically inferring the user's subtle emotional state. The core innovation is providing optimized, personalized meditation content instantly via an XR headset based on these emotional analysis results. Previously, users had to select their emotions manually, but now AI automatically understands everything, offering a more intuitive and immersive meditation experience. Users can also see their mental state changes before and after meditation at a glance, contributing to enhanced self-understanding.
MUA spans three platforms: XR, mobile, and sensors (watch), specifically offering an XR meditation experience optimized for Meta Quest. The Android mobile app allows users to explore content with a 'preview' function, and the company is actively reviewing expansion to next-generation platforms such as iOS versions, Galaxy XR, and Apple Vision Pro in the future.
'MIND-C AI' boasts sophistication by analyzing human emotions, subdividing them into 196 categories based on psychologist James Russell's two-dimensional model of affect. The algorithm, trained by combining individual biometric data with accumulated usage pattern data from numerous MUA users, becomes even more accurate over time.
To target the global wellness market, MUA has consistently participated in major domestic and international exhibitions, such as the '2025 Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition)', receiving significant interest. With this update, MUA has transitioned to a subscription-based paid service, but users can enjoy a free trial for a certain period after app installation and experience various meditation contents in advance.
NP plans to continuously expand the range of experiences by adding meditation content that incorporates diverse themes such as orchestral sound, color therapy, and fairy tales starting early next year. Baek Seung-up, CEO of NP, stated, "MUA is a unique platform that perfectly combines meditation experience with technology for analyzing biometric data and emotions," adding, "Based on our innovative technology and content capabilities, we will prove our unparalleled growth potential in the global wellness market."
