## South Korean Edutech Davida Proves 'AI Handwriting' Technology on Japan's Local Innovation Stage South Korean edutech startup Davida has once again confirmed its technological influence on the global stage by advancing to the finals of the 'Yabu City Regional Challenge Solution PoC Contest,' held in Yabu City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, with its innovative AI solution 'GenieTeacher.' This contest is a public-private partnership program led by Japanese local public institutions, aiming to solve practical problems in local communities and vitalize industries. The four finally selected teams will each receive a support fund of 100,000 yen, along with the opportunity to build a concrete collaboration model with the respective public institution. Davida's core solution, 'GenieTeacher,' is an integrated education system that combines traditional handwriting learning with AI-based learning feedback. In particular, Davida garnered keen attention from local collaboration partners by proposing the possibility of expanding this technology beyond the education sector into public document management and administrative efficiency areas. If finally selected in the finals, Davida will actively pursue a regionally customized PoC project through collaboration with Yabu City's public institutions. Lee Eun-seung, CEO of Davida, stated, "This advancement to the finals proves that Davida's AI-based handwriting recognition technology can substantially contribute to solving problems for Japanese public institutions and local communities." He further expressed his aspirations, saying, "Moving forward, we will continue to create social value through cooperation with the public sector worldwide, beyond Japan." Davida's overseas expansion is not limited to Japan. Recently, the company has been accelerating its global market expansion by successively securing 'GenieTeacher'-based PoCs and partnerships in four Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Egypt. Meanwhile, Davida has consistently been recognized for its technology and innovation at prestigious domestic and international competitions, including receiving the 2024 CES Innovation Award, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, the Silver Award at the Japan AES Global Awards, and selection for the Private Investment-led Tech Startup Incubation Program (TIPS). Based on these achievements, Davida is expected to move beyond regional innovation in Japan and create new value in the public sector worldwide, with its future steps eagerly anticipated.
