D.CAMP Startups Get Chance for ₩64 Billion Police R&D Project

D.CAMP has partnered with the National Police Agency to discover and foster startups that will innovate the future public safety of South Korea. The Future Public Safety R&D Business Briefing held on the 7th at Frontone, Seoul, is a follow-up measure to the agreement between the two organizations. Through this event, 10 D.CAMP-supported startups will contribute to the advancement of the National Police Agency's public safety services, and the National Police Agency has created an opportunity for mutual growth by verifying innovative technologies. At the briefing, the National Police Agency shared in detail future public safety issues and demands, including traffic, daily life, forensic science, and cyber safety, and startups showed keen interest by freely proposing innovative ideas for the advancement of K-public safety. In particular, the National Police Agency has allocated this year's R&D budget at 64 billion won, an increase of 7.4 billion won compared to the previous year, and plans to strengthen science and technology-based police investigation capabilities through 17 projects. This is expected to be a turning point for promising startups supported by D.CAMP to overcome the 'death valley' and achieve new leaps in a startup ecosystem where growth gaps are widening. D.CAMP, established by the Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs, declared 'D.CAMP 2.0' in 2024 and is actively supporting ICT, deep tech, and climate tech startups in the pre-A and Series A stages. With comprehensive support including investment, office space, education, and networking, it helps entrepreneurs achieve explosive growth and provides opportunities for public contribution, thereby solidifying its role as a 'startup growth partner'.
